This was a favorite piece for John and his partner. But they couldn’t ignore the condition it was in, any longer. So John waited for a sunny day to load it into his sporty convertible and bring it into The Frame Studio.
We figured out that it is an Asian Silk that was done in the 1950′s (ish). It had never been mounted correctly so the sagging kept getting worse. It had also never been sealed so the bugs had found thier way in and eaten small pin holes in it.
After we got the back off of it, it became obvious what color it originally was. However, over time (60 years) without UV glass, the damage was done. Luckily for John, it had fadded into colors that he also enjoyed.

With proper mounting and stretching, a new border, UV Glass and Molding, the piece came back to life. Not sure if this picture does it justice. But John and his partner sure seemed happy when we dropped it off to them. (We had too deliver it because there has been to much rain lately. Didn’t want to risk it, or wait for another sunny day.)

Great job! We’re really happy with the way it turned out. Spectacular piece of work. Thanks for your care and enthusiasm for this project.
Thanks John. We appreciate your business. You can count on us to always take care AND to be enthusiastic about your favorite pieces of art. Thanks for noticing.
