A Long Way to Go

A Long Way to Go
A client of THE FRAME STUDIO brought this beautiful silk embroidery all the way from his home in China, where he lived for a number of years.  This 28" x 43" silk embroidery took one artist over two years to complete.  Just let that sink in for a moment - 2 years. Our client loved the piece, but the frame it was originally in was very old world, which did not work with his new modern Florida environment.  We helped him pick out a custom frame that was modern enough to work with the room, but still had a little old world charm to work with the art.  The combination works great.  We wished we...

Love from a Gondola

Love from a Gondola
Our very own Bari Wiggins took these photos on a recent vacation of a lifetime through Italy.  Once she chose the four photos she wanted on her wall, she had Little's Photography print them on metallic paper to get the proper "glow" for the water, and then chose custom framing with THE FRAME STUDIO to get the proper age and "Italian-ness" that she was looking for. We think they turned out beautifully, and would love to go visit them on her wall anytime we wanted to escape to Italy!

Updating an Old Love

Updating an Old Love
A client recently brought in this painting of a koala that she had framed back in 1979.  She was still in love with the painting, but was looking for a more updated design that could work along with her new living room. We at THE FRAME STUDIO found a custom framing combination that would work with her new rustic grey living room.  The shift in colors updated the look - that avocado bottom mat was so 70s - while making the koala the warmest part of the design, drawing your eye inward.  We also evened the matting on all sides to give the piece more balance.  Changing the regular glass to Cons...

Captivating Art

Captivating Art
We at THE FRAME STUDIO had a lot of fun with two cool client's of ours who have a three very interesting paintings done by artist Loui Jover.  Their idea was to frame the art to protect them after the damage that they had sustained while being unframed and folded during numerous moves. The art was so powerful, that simplicity became the key for the custom framing package.  A modern bright glossy white frame was used to contrast the aged and weathered look of the pieces to give them a more polished look.  Our client's loved the look, and so do we.

Back to Nature

Back to Nature
We at The Frame Studio love nature.  Even more so, we love framing anything nature related.  With this Torres del Paine print that a client recently brought in, we really love the combination of  the rugged linen textured top mat combined with the smooth shocking orange underneath paired with the weathered black frame to make an amazing custom framed piece.  It really makes us want to put on our hiking boots and do nature stuff!

Michael Jackson and His Art

Michael Jackson and His Art
We at The Frame Studio are always fascinated by singers who are also artists.  Is it possible to have that much talent in one person?  Sure!  Look at John Lennon, Jerry Garcia, or Marilyn Manson - their art even seems to echo their music in mood and ease.  What about Michael Jackson?  Well, a new client came in to The Frame Studio recently to frame two of Michael Jackson's prints.  We had no idea that he was an artist, too!  Working along with the client, we found great custom framing combinations for both pieces. The glossy black frame accentuates the swirling lines of the image, while the pi...

The New HARLOW Collection

The New HARLOW Collection
A client brought in this beautiful serigraph by artist Martin Lawrence to THE FRAME STUDIO to change the custom framing.  The original frame was a black lacquer that really dated the piece.  We found that stacking two frames from the new Harlow Collection from Larson did the trick.  This art entitled "Concerto for Harpsicord" now has the true theatrical sensation that sitting at the symphony should invoke. We wanted to keep this piece for ourselves!

Add a Little Drama

Add a Little Drama
This beautiful original pastel of Myrna Loy (Artist: Maria Mitchell) recently came across our table at THE FRAME STUDIO.  The owners of the piece went for bold custom framing for this rich piece of art work using one of Roma's new Lavo frames.  When we combined the Electric Red frame with black and grey silk matting, it created a more dramatic look that works with the red in the art.  We enjoyed the final result so much, we didn't want to let it go!
