Custom Framed Shadow Boxes

A Special Race – Update

A Special Race – Update
Remember the post from June 14, 2013 about Kathy and her dog Nutmeg running the Tour de Broward race?  THE FRAME STUDIO received pictures from Kathy that the custom framed piece is on display at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood.  It is on the first floor in the corridor between the lobby and the Clipper Café along with other memorabilia from the race.  If you happen to be in the area, stop in and check out their collection.  And thanks again to Kathy and Nutmeg for all that you do for the children!

POP!

POP!
How many times have you walked through a room and thought that it needs a little something?  Why not place a wall grouping in the space to give it some pop? Many of Little's Photography's clients pick a series of photos to frame from their shoots, and we at THE FRAME STUDIO love to frame these collections for wall groupings.  But you don't need to limit yourself to just photographs . . . add in mementos from a trip, or keepsakes from family members - things that are connected with the grouping.  Whether you frame them to be a symmetrical grouping to add balance to a space, or an asymmetrica...

High School Mementos

High School Mementos
THE FRAME STUDIO recently had a client bring in a collection of mementos from a distinguished high school career in swimming.  We knew custom framing this selection of items was a great way to pay homage to passed accomplishments.  We chose to work with the school colors to match with the varsity letter, and added a gold bottom mat to accentuate all of the different medals in the frame.  Putting everything on the same black backing pulled it all together and made it pop.  Now the client has a great memento to be proud of that highlights his achievements.         ...

Framing the History of a Business

Framing the History of a Business
We here at THE FRAME STUDIO love a challenge, and we started out the year with a great one!  A new client found us with an online search.  He liked our web site and was impressed with our selection of shadow box designs on the site, so he brought in a fun custom framing project using a few of his collectibles.  Tom had a collection of model semis that he had accumulated through the years of owning trucking companies.  He had a vision of what he wanted, so we spent time working along with him to come up with the best layouts that would pair up the trucks for each company with their matching b...

A Special Race

A Special Race
Kathy came into THE FRAME STUDIO the other day with some items from a special race.  Kathy did a 5k run with Nutmeg, her dog.  Kathy works in the health care system, and Nutmeg works at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital as a therapy dog.  Kathy and Nutmeg do so much together;  it only made sense to race together. Kathy wanted to make sure that there would be no question that Nutmeg could run in the race with her, so Nutmeg was entered as a runner. They both had their own entry numbers, and got their own medals at the end. We were so grateful to get to frame their memories.  We created a s...

Graduation framing

Graduation framing
Graduation is right around the corner for all of those special people in your life that you can't believe are all grown up and ready to fly the coop.  It's important to frame those diplomas, as a symbol of a graduate's long journey.  At THE FRAME STUDIO,  we did a custom frame job for a client who had saved his tassels and the honors medallion.  Using the school's colors and a simple black frame, we came up with a package that showcases these fabulous accomplishments. So remember to bring in those diplomas and get framing!  Every graduate needs to celebrate the end of their educational care...

Miami Heat . . . Hot! Hot! Hot! Do you remember last year's NBA finals?  THE FRAME STUDIO's very own Bari Wiggins brought in a slew of  items from last year's finals, plus a few pictures from Dwayne Wade's basketball camp.  We came up with a "White Hot" custom shadow box design that could house such awesomeness, and sure made her son, very happy.

The Material Girl – Immortal

The Material Girl – Immortal
Something pretty "vogue" recently crossed our counter at The Frame Studio. Cody and Gary, owners of The Dive Bar on Ocean Blvd., brought in a guitar that they bought at a charity event that supported Big Brothers and Big Sisters. The guitar was signed by Madonna on her Hard Candy Tour. (A guitar you ask?  "Madonna doesn't play guitar . . . she just sings and dances" you say?  But, oh yes she did!  She played guitar in her first band The Breakfast Club, so it's kosher!) Cody and Gary knew they had to display such a find at the bar - you can't keep something that cool to yourself - so we chos...

Running for Family and Justice

Running for Family and Justice
The recent Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon and Half Marathon brought runners from all over to town. One of those runners came to The Frame Studio to create a custom shadow box and frame. We have created previous shadow boxes  for Karen, from other races, but the contents of this box are a little extra special to her: a photo of her at the finish line, her time card (she finished in 2nd Place in her age category - a fantastic achievement), her number tag, her medal for participating but most treasured is the button she wore on her left hip as she ran. The button is in commemoration of her co...
