When custom framing art for your home, not only do you have to consider the style of the environment the art is going in, but you must also consider the SIZE of the space. We at THE FRAME STUDIO know that too many people put art that is too small on a vast wall. The Little’s Photography portrait shown here over the fireplace is 30″ x 40″ with a 4 1/2″ wide frame around it. Think of how much different the space would look if the portrait was only 16 x 20! The space in the entry way over the chairs is much larger, and the size of the portrait is 40″ x 60″ with 2 frames stacked that equal 4 1/2″ wide; the portrait doesn’t seem giant at all!
Always think about the size of your space when it comes to placing art. Don’t be afraid to cut a piece of craft paper to tack to the wall with painter’s tape to give you an idea of what it would look like. You’d be surprised how large you can go!
