When Opposites Attract

The decision to move in with your partner or spouse is an incredibly exciting one. But in the midst of all the excitement, there are many things to consider and many choices to make. First, you need to decide on where it is you’ll inhabit – your place or theirs? Then you’ll need to work out such things as whose iron stays and whose iron goes – you certainly don’t need two. The same goes for cutlery, crockery, TVs, beds, furniture and shower curtains.

Then comes the decision about what will go on your shared walls. Unfortunately, unless you’ve managed to find the one-in-a-million who shares exactly the same style and aesthetic taste as you, this particular decision is more often than not fraught with issues.

If you have a collection of ultra-modern framed prints while your partner has mahogany framed autographs by Jim Morrison or Bret Favre and neither of you wants their art banished to the back of the closet, come to The Frame Studio, the South Florida frame store that can help you tie everything together.

We can’t help when it comes to choosing which set of parents you visit from one weekend to the next, but we can help you custom frame an eclectic collection of mismatching pieces in a more harmonious way. If you’re moving in together, we assume you like each other, and relationships are about compromise, after all.

Once your pieces are framed, we suggest you create wall groupings, putting like items together; his collection on one shelf or wall, yours on another. Forming separate ‘collections’ in similar frames will help separate the obvious disparities rather than jumbling everything together and pretending everything ‘goes’.

So before any bickering even begins, bring your favorite pieces to The Frame Studio. Our custom framing will help bring harmony to your artwork and keep harmony in your home.
